Took a little time to enjoy the great weather today and do a little urban exploration here in town. I’ve found a couple more spots that I’m going to hit over the next few weeks too. This was the Route 66 West Twin Drive-In in Weatherford, Oklahoma. I actually saw a few movies there over the years, though more at the one in Guthrie. Being from Edmond, Weatherford was a bit of a drive.
It closed in the late 1990s and was reopened in mid 2000s, only to lapse yet again. The structure and equipment were sold and rumor is that it’s going to reopen in a smaller town in western Oklahoma. We’ll see how that turns out.
